She Thought, Y Not?

Albert Einstein once said, “ I have no special talents, I am only passionately curious.” A blog for the curious creators, lovers, diyers, cooks, beauty junkies, and the young at heart.

DIY Fabric Wall Art

I live in an apartment with 2 other ladies, and none of us have extra money to decorate. So, when we were sick of our walls being bare and looking boring, we decided to dress them up on the cheap. Here’s what we did and the outcome!

  • Different sized picture frames (we got ours for 50 cents – $1.00 at garage sales!)
  • Various fabrics (we got ours in the sale section at the fabric store down the street)
  • Glue Gun
  • Scissors

You’ll be wrapping the fabric around the picture frames and gluing the ends to the back of the frame.

  1. Cut the fabrics so that they can tightly wrap around each frame, leaving just enough room to glue them to the back of the frames
  2. Experiment with different combinations, and choose the ones you like best before gluing.
  3. Use your glue gun to put glue all around the back of the frame, then pull the fabric around and press down
  4. Lay out all of the frames on the floor and decide how you want them to look hanging on the wall
  5. We used tacks to hang them, but you could try nails or 3m strips too.
